Mon-Dak Junior Golf Tour

The Mon-Dak Junior Golf Tour is in its tenth year in 2010! We are looking forward to an exciting year of competitive junior golf! The tour has been designed to give aspiring junior golfers additional opportunities to develop their tournament skills and enjoy a quality competitive atmosphere. After a couple of years absence the tour is back and ready for junior golfers who wish to play competitive golf.

A primary goal of the MDJGT is to help each player enhance his/her skills in tournament golf and learn the fine points of The Rules of Golf under competitive conditions. Our Tour is designed to appeal to those young people desiring to take their respective game to a higher level and enhance their golf resume. Nationwide junior golf is growing at such a rapid rate that opportunities to participate in quality tournaments have been limited by the relatively few events currently available in our local areas. Only a small percentage of Junior Golfers have been able to qualify for these tournaments.

An additional purpose of the Tour will be to gain exposure for aspiring young golfers. Our tournament result will not only be conveyed to local as well as home town media, but will be transmitted to regional college and university golf coaches on an ongoing basis. Participants making specific requests for distribution of event results to a college or university of his/her choice will be accommodated.

The MDJT recognizes that golf is another "game of life." It is our overall goal that this Tour will provide one more opportunity for young people to grow in physical, mental, and moral stature and be another positive building block for a useful and pleasing life in the years that are ahead.

Tournament Administration

The MDJGT was designed by PGA Professional, Jay M. Frank from the Sidney Country Club in Sidney, MT with the assistance of Alecia MacMaster, LPGA Professional. These two individuals have successfully integrated junior golf programs throughout their sections. SCC Professional Jay Frank and Staff will be overseeing this summer's junior golf tour.

The tour is managed by Jay Frank, GM at the Sidney Country Club. Jay and staff will actively manage all phases of the tour. Tournament Conduct

Event starting times will be 10:00 a.m. Central Time at the tournaments in North Dakota and 9:00 a.m. Mountain Time at tournaments in Montana. All players must check into to MDJGT staff at least 15 minutes in advance of their starting time. All players are asked to be at their assigned beginning tee, ready to play, ten (10) minutes prior to their tee time. Appropriate "late penalties" will be assessed for those arriving after their announced time. If a player arrives at his/her starting point, ready to play, within five minutes after his/her starting time, in the absence of circumstances which warrant the penalty of disqualification as provided in Rule 33-7 (USGA Rules Book) , the penalty for failure to start on time is two (2) strokes at the first hole in stroke play.

Neither caddies nor golf cars may be used by players. Each player must carry his/her own golf bag. Push carts/ pull carts will be allowed in all events but must be handled by player only.

The Rules of Golf will be strictly enforced. The MDJGT believes that members desiring to play in competitive golf must be fully acquainted with the rules of the game and realize that strict application of these rules is a cornerstone of this great game. Distance measuring devices will not be allowed during tour competitions.

Undue Delay (Slow Play) will not be permitted. Players must be ready to play when it is their turn. Course marshals will closely monitor this aspect of play and will penalize players as needed.

Signed scorecards must be turned into the scorer's table at the completion of each round of play. The scorecard must be accurate, legible and signed by each of the players in the group. Players submitting incorrect scorecards will be penalized and/ or disqualified.

If a player intends to withdraw from a tournament between rounds, he/she must inform the tournament officials immediately after completion of round one. Failure to notify an official in the above manner may cause entry into future events to be denied.

Exemplary behavior on and off the golf course characterizes participants in the game of golf. The MDJGT will not allow club throwing, abusive language, disrespect to staff, volunteers, or courses, use of tobacco, alcohol, or illegal drugs or any conduct unbecoming a lady or gentleman before, during and after and event. Violation of any of these standards of conduct may result in disqualification during an event, or in the extreme cases, suspension from Tour Membership.

The Mon-Dak Tour will adopt the following dress codes for all tour events:
Players, parents and volunteers must abide by the MDJGT dress code. Proper attire for all events includes:
